wait… ai stocks are a thing now?

I had a moment of realization when I stumbled across this buzz about AI stocks for beginners in 2026. Like seriously, who decided this was a good idea? Somewhere in this timeline, AI stocks have become the ‘in’ thing and beginners are supposed to hop on this bandwagon. Imagine trying to explain to my six-months-ago self that not only is AI a stock category, but it’s meant for beginners. Yep, beginners. Doesn’t that scream ‘solid investment plan,’ right?

So, the basic premise seems simple. There are stocks that have some vague connection to AI, except half the time nobody can really articulate what these companies are actually doing. Everyone’s riding this swell of enthusiasm. And it’s all wrapped up in jargon so thick you’d need a machete to get through it. I’m picturing the execs of these companies sitting back, relaxing, thinking about their yacht purchases in vague terms of ‘AI-based innovation.’ It reminds me of how cryptos were marketed. Yup, the same cryptos that make half of us twitch and the other half meme their way through volatility.

When people say ‘top AI stocks,’ what even qualifies a company as an ‘AI stock’? They got a chatbot? An algorithm? Maybe a robot roaming the hallways? (Speaking of which, if you don’t have a robot that brings you coffee by 2026, are you even trying?) There’s always this nebulous air of ‘innovation’ that justifies dropping cold, hard cash on a prospect you barely understand. Like dropping hundreds on a concert ticket only to hear the artist lip-sync. These stocks are supposed to cater to novices, yet the complexity involved seems anything but inviting. ‘Just trust the process,’ they say. Yeah, right.

Looks like I’ll need to get some popcorn ready for when this hype takes another unexpected turn. My eyes still hurt from staring at graphs I don’t pretend to comprehend, and as someone engaging with this niche industry, I can’t even imagine telling a friend with a straight face that they should ‘consider AI stocks.’ At this point, it’s a mixed bag of potential and headaches. Dreams of early retirement dancing with syntax errors, or something. Ugh.
