real world asset tokens are a joke
Oh great, just what we needed. Tokens backed by real world assets. Because when I think of gold or real estate investments, the first thing that comes to mind is obviously blockchain. Seriously, who thought this was necessary? We’re talking about asset-backed tokens like ONDO and PAXG, because, you know, BUYING actual gold wasn’t exciting enough. Now we need shiny digital versions that promise the same thing. How thrilling.
And don’t get me started on how these so-called tokens bring trillions in liquidity. Yeah, sure. Because I’m positive BlackRock needs blockchain to bring liquidity and legitimacy to anything. Like they’re waiting eagerly for us dorks to tokenize some traditional finance before they dive in.
So here we are, turning everything into tokens and pretending it’s revolutionary. Yeah, sure, go ahead and back your tokens with actual US treasuries, because who doesn’t want to deal with the reliability of governmental paper on a digital chain that can magically evaporate with one technical glitch? Makes total sense. Whatever.
