dogecoin isn’t a joke anymore?
So, they think Dogecoin will be the next big thing because Musk might integrate it on Twitter? What a world we live in where a meme coin is on the edge of becoming an actual utility currency. I mean, really, imagine paying for your coffee with something that started as an internet joke. It’s like buying groceries with Monopoly money, but everyone just agrees that it’s legit because some guy with rockets says so.
The whole idea of transitioning from something funny that we laughed at to something we actually use is driving me nuts. If this really happens, what will be next? Cat memes as a new physical currency?
Seriously, as if tipping our tweets with a virtual Shiba Inu wasn’t enough to question where society’s heading. It’s all fun and games until it becomes, well, not games anymore.
I know there’s this whole existing holder base ready to swap their funny money for goods and services but think about it — how did we even reach this point where people look at their phone screens and say, ‘Sure, why not use a little digital dog for my next online transaction’?
Oh and don’t get me started on the hype train that’s already left the station because some day Elon might wake up and decide Dogecoin is yesterday’s news.
I just can’t wrap my head around it. Maybe I’m old-fashioned or maybe it’s just common sense, but whatever. You can read more misguided optimism like this here if you’re into that sort of thing.
